Fall Newsletter 2024
Wow! Premier Equine Veterinary Services has been in business for two years this November 2024! Thank you to all the friends, family, and clients who have supported Premier Equine in these beginning years. There have been a few changes since its opening. From a new work vehicle, to new hires and rescued red heeler named Kora, Dr. Benson will be expanding her family in early January 2025! Dr. Benson and her husband Justin are expecting a baby girl and they could not be more excited!
As more changes come for her family and team, we appreciate patience and understanding as Dr. Benson navigates pregnancy and motherhood. Dr. Benson and her team plan on servicing the Premier Equine clientele until mid-December when she takes maternity leave. She may be limited in what she is physically able to do as her pregnancy progresses, but will refer to competent and trusting colleagues if needed. After hours emergencies will be covered by local veterinarians when Dr. Benson is on maternity leave, but a relief veterinarian will be available for routine appointments and daytime emergencies. More information will be provided closer to her maternity leave.
The Premier Equine technicians and assistants will be working more hands on as well. Technicians and assistants are highly trained in the practice of physical exams, drawing blood, administering intramuscular and intravenous injections, taking radiographs, and more. At Premier Equine, we value continuing education and our technicians are no exception. Dr. Benson and her staff take time monthly to improve their skills and techniques, whether that be researching and discussing current cases and improved recommendations, learning or improving a technical skill, or inviting other veterinarians in the industry to teach them new techniques. As Premier Equine continues to grow our team will continue to provide our clients one on one, comprehensive, personalized, high quality and accessible veterinary care. For more information on how Premier Equine utilizes veterinary technicians and assistants to provide care for your horse please refer to AVMA Veterinary Technicians and Assistants and AAEVT Utilization of Equine Vet Techs and Assistants.
Premier Equine Veterinary Services is also updating their medical record and appointment system as well! Some clients may be aware of the frustration on both the veterinarian and client end with the current system- the new system will include improvements to appointment scheduling and doctor/technician communication. Billing aspects will be enhanced and streamlined. For money back rebates and online pharmacy deals, check out our website for more information. As we make these improvements please keep an eye out for client information renewal requests. We appreciate your patience while we navigate this update.
