Winter Newsletter 2024

Happy Holidays from Premier Equine Veterinary Services! We hope that this holiday season finds you with some rest and relaxation, as well as spending time with family and friends. There are a few (exciting!) changes with Premier Equine in the next coming months, so please read below for an update!

Dr. Benson and her husband Justin will be welcoming their first baby January 2025! Dr. Benson will begin her maternity leave Dec 20th and will be on leave until Mid/late March.  But do not worry, Premier Equine Veterinary Services will still be seeing clientele! We are pleased to announce that Dr. Haley Greenbank will be available to see PEVS clients on Tuesdays and Fridays.  Dr. Haley will be available for routine appointments and daytime emergencies starting the week of January 6th. Below is a brief bio of Dr. Greenbank:

Dr. Haley Greenbank grew up in Eastern, Canada and received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the Atlantic Veterinary College (AVC).  Throughout her degree she trained and competed in dressage.  In her final year at AVC she completed her Veterinary Acupuncture Course through Chi University.  After graduation, she pursued additional training through sports medicine internship at TD Equine in Calgary, Alberta.  During this time she worked as an FEI permitted treating veterinarian at Spruce Meadows.  Dr. Haley has been working as a sports medicine veterinarian in California the past 2 years.  Dr. Haley’s veterinary interests include sports medicine, acupuncture, and preventative care.  In her spare time Dr. Haley enjoys hiking with her dog Sawyer, horseback riding and sailing.

Along with Dr. Haley seeing PEVS clientele, our highly trained vet assistants will be able to serve PEVS clients with continued care.  Ashlee and Alyssa will be available for technician appointments and see clientele for triage, rechecks (lameness and bloodwork), medication administration, bandage changes, collection of blood and other laboratory samples, administering booster vaccines, as well as various other duties and treatments.  PEVS vet assistants will be available on Mondays and Thursdays for technician only appointments.  All appointments (veterinary and technician only) can be made via text, call, or email.

As always, telehealth services will be available and medication requests can be filled via text, email and our online pharmacy.  For money back rebates and our online pharmacy deals, check out our PEVS website for more information.

After hours emergencies will be covered by our colleagues at Petaluma Equine Hospital. Their emergency line is: (707) 721-4402. Dr. Benson cannot wait to be back in the early spring, but knows that the PEVS clientele will be in good hands.  As always she is available for telehealth, but may take a little longer to respond due to adjusting to a new baby and motherhood.

As the year comes to a close and a new year is around the corner, we want to thank our Premier Equine Veterinary Services clientele for a wonderful, and fulfilling year.  If you have any questions please feel free to reach out at (707) 360-2630 or via email premierequine.vetservices@gmail.com.  Also be on the lookout for an update on her new family member once she is here!
